eRAMP - Improve Access database performance and correct errors

Improve Access database performance and correct errors

eRAMP Standard has a built-in utility for users with an Access database to compact and repair your database. Database files can grow quickly as you use them, sometimes impeding performance. They can also occasionally become corrupt or damaged. You can use the Compact menu option to improve database performance and to fix potential and current problems. The compact process does not compress your data — it makes your database file smaller by eliminating unused space. The Compact command can also help improve performance of your database.

Inside of eRAMP there is a menu option to compact your database. With all eRAMP users out of eRAMP try selecting the Compact Database option.

Follow the directions that pop up and make sure you have all your eRAMP screens like 102 Registration or 207 Transfer of Rights closed.

When you are ready to start the compact database program click Yes.

After eRAMP compacts your database a message will display confirming the database has been compacted. Be sure the path to the database is the correct location of your eRAMP database. If it is the correct path open eRAMP and try repeating some of the steps you were taking when things seemed to be running slow. If it is not the correct path contact customer support for assistance.
