Cause: The loan trying to be registered has already been registered. MERs will
not allow a loan to be submitted for registration twice. eRAMP
registration has built in business rules that follows MERS. eRAMP will
only allow a loan to be imported into 102 Registration once. If the user
tries to import a loan into 102 Registration a second time an error
will be included after the import process has completed warning the user
there are duplicate loans and list the MIN numbers for each loan. The
only way MERS will report the error "MIN Already Registered" is if the
loan was already registered. If a user receives the error message "MIN
Already Registered" after submitting loans for registration using either
the eRAMP batch overnight process or XML online registration process is
if the loan was not in eRAMP and was registering on MERS website or
from another system outside of eRAMP. If all loans are registered using
eRAMP and no other system could have been used and no one registered the
loan on MERS website then the other possibility is the loan was
submitted for registration through eRAMP and the loan was subsequently
deleted. If a loan is deleted from any section of eRAMP the loan is
deleted completely from the system. In this case since the loan was
deleted eRAMP would not know the loan had been previously submitted to
MERS for registration and would allow the loan to be submitted a second
time.
Resolution: Loans should only be deleted
from eRAMP long after all MERS transactions have been completed. All
loans should be registered and transferred using eRAMP, never use
another system or MERS website. eRAMP keeps track of the loan throughout
the MERS process so loans should not be deleted. If you would like to
optimize your eRAMP database and remove old loans we recommend deleting
loans that are more than one year old so the possibility of a duplicate
loan is limited. After deleting a large number of loans from a eRAMP
Standard Access database it is a good idea to run Microsoft's compact
and repair utility provided with MS Access. Compact and Repair is also
provided as a menu option in eRAMP. When running compact and repair from
eRAMP SQL databases do not have to be compacted like Access Databases.
