MINGenerator Network Setup for Multi-User Environment

To run MINGenerator over a network follow the software installation instructions provided at time you downloaded your MINGenerator software. Install MINGenerator on one workstation. Using Windows Explorer locate the mingen.mdb file in the C:\users\public\mingen_data folder. Copy the mingen.mdb file to a new folder on a network server. Open MINGenerator and go to Settings>Client and enter the full path to the new database location into the Database Directory field at the bottom of the screen and click apply. Do not install MINGenerator on any other workstations at this time.



On the first workstation complete the user setup. If you would like to save your MIN number files to a folder on your network create the new folder and update the folder location in the Export File field. Finish setup by entering email address and select export file type Excel or Text.

After the first workstation has been setup open Windows Explorer. Copy all files contained in the c:\program files\MINGen and c:\users\public\MINGen_data folders from the first workstation to the same folders on all remaining workstations. Using this method will clone all workstations based on the first workstation setup. From this point forward each workstation will access the same database over the network.

After completing each workstation setup add a shortcut from each user's workstation to the mingen.exe file.
